FAQs

  • What should I do if the police want to speak to me?

We recommend you seek legal advice when you become aware you are a person of interest. It is important to seek advice before speaking to the police or agreeing to make a statement. If you contact one of our barristers, they can speak to you about your situation.

  • How do I instruct one of your barristers?

You can get in touch with one of our barristers by emailing them directly; they will then respond to your query. If you have a more general query or aren’t sure who you want to instruct, send a message via our contact page and we will be in touch.

  • What is an ‘instructing solicitor’?

As barristers, we need to be engaged via an ‘instructing solicitor’. When you contact the barrister of your choice, they will explain this process to you and assist you with an instructing solicitor.

  • What if I need Legal Aid?

Legal aid is managed by the Ministry of Justice; whether you are eligible for legal aid depends on your assets and income. Many of our barristers undertake legal aid work and can assist you with applying for legal aid. More information on legal aid can be found at www.justice.govt.nz

  • Do you take cases outside of Auckland?

Yes, many of our barristers regularly appear in courts across New Zealand. Contact us to discuss your individual circumstances.

  • Where can I park if I come to your chambers for a meeting?

We are centrally located and are close to many public transport options. If you are driving, the closest parking is the Sky City carpark or the public carpark on Federal St, close to the District Court.
